Itinerary:

On this ultimate tour in Budapest, you discover the heart of Hungarian spa traditions, and learn about the history of the stunning capital. Stand outside the beautiful Gellert Thermal Baths, housed within an art nouveau building and famous for its mosaics, learn about the healing waters surrounding the city.

There are more than 125 sources of spring water in the hills surrounding Budapest, many of which are famous for their healing properties. Next on our walking tour in Budapest, we visit a church carved into the city’s hillside before walking along the Bridge of Liberty, crossing into Pest, and jumping on a tram for a ride through the city. Admire the Budapest’s wealth of beautiful buildings, from the opulence of the Buda Castle to the white towers of the Fisherman’s Bastion.

Jump off the tram for some Budpest sightseeing, as we explore the city’s old Jewish district and learn about the history of this part of town. Step underneath the city for a ride on the historic Metro, a world heritage site and the oldest underground on the European continent. Get off at City Park, a site much-loved by locals during the summer months, and an ideal place to people watch.

Next you will admire one of the park’s most famous landmarks, the Vajdahunyad castle, which is a true Budapest travel highlight. You then get to down a refreshing glass of natural spring water at the drinking parlour. After a day exploring the sights of the city, sooth tired muscles with a soak in the healing waters of the Széchenyi Thermal Bath (this is optional and not included).

Feel muscles relax, and perhaps challenge a local to a game of chess, as you indulge in this century-old Hungarian tradition. There’s plenty to see, learn and experience on this day tour in Budapest.
