Hungarians love wine. And they also love soda water. No wonder, since it's theirs. Ányos Jedlik published his work about soda water production in 1829 and since then this drink is everywhere. Not only on the tables but in the wines glases as well...
Adding soda water to dry white wine produces a refreshing bubbly drink. It is not consumed for its alcholic content, it is an excellent drink to kill your thirst on a hot summer afternoon.
In Hungarian it is called "fröccs" (pronounced as frowtsh) and it has different versions depending on the ratio of the wine and the soda. But about this... you should fing out yourself!
The Hungarian language is among the most difficult to learn, as it does not belong to any of the well known language groups.
The well-known Hungarian spice, paprika, is not a simple spice.
Thermal waters usually have a strong, characteristic smell when they come up from the source, but the local Budapest people do not mind it.
