Useful Tips

Visiting sites and monuments
  1. If you hold an EU passport visiting the Hungarian Parliament is free of charge. Guided tours are available throughout the day in English and other languages as well.
  2. Matthias Church is closed during services, opening hours are as folllows: 

Monday-Friday: 09-17                                  Saturday: 09-13                                  Sunday: 13-17

 

Other Useful Tips

  1. In Liszt Ferenc square you will find many good bars and restaurants that offer international and traditional dishes as well.
  2. If you wanna have a real Hungarian lunch eat at Főzelékfaló on the corner of Andrássy and Nagymező street, close to the Opera house. Főzelék is a very traditional vegetable stew (almost like a very thick soup). Hungarians make them from all kind of vegetables, etc: potato, lentil, French beans or spinach.
